Karen Buck

Karen joined Conservation Impact in September of 2007. As an associate, she is responsible for client service, project development and management, and consulting to meet client needs. Karen has 12 years of experience in nonprofit management and fundraising. She brings particular expertise in major donor development, special events, fundraising systems, grand writing, and board development. Karen works with clients to assess their fundraising capacity, create fundraising and marketing plans, establish effective resource development systems, and train boards, staff, and volunteers to be effective fundraisers and organization ambassadors. Karen has a great reputation for her work in motivating voluntary leadership to get the job done!

Prior to joining Conservation Impact, Karen worked with a variety of local and national nonprofit organizations. Most recently she was responsible for donor communications and stewardship, annual campaigns, and program management for a Community College Foundation. She has also held key fundraising and nonprofit management positions with cancer services, homelessness, and civic engagement organizations. In addition, Karen has served with a number of local nonprofits focused on women's issues, political campaigns, and international education.

  • Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology and Women's Studies, University of Colorado at Boulder.
  • Enjoys international travel, learning Spanish, art, and hiking with her dogs.
